I am 18 and have suffered from depression for about 2 years and what people need to realise is that it is an illness and so a little TLC and support helps like it would if someone had the flu.
If you are suffering from depression the sooner you realise this the better as it can become dangerous to your health and mental attitude which makes it ten times harder to fight! But my advice is to talk about it, keep yourself busy and have two diaries and for every negative thought you write in one make sure you write a positive thought in the other. It makes you appreciate yourself, your life and the people around you!! It worked for me!
Ultimately I am learning that it is only me who can bring me out of this and it is hard, so good luck to everyone and remember that people are with you not against you!!!
