I'm just at the beginning stages of recognizing and healing my depression, and I'm learning a few helpful things for the short-term.
take time to sit outside and do nothing but observe. observe with your eyes, your ears, your skin, and anything else you can possibly observe with. in stead of getting frustrated with all the things you observe that might get you frustrated, think of the positive things. that is, if you get frustrated because you're not physically/emotionally capable of doing something, think about the one day when you will be (I'm sure it will come).
write a list of things you look forward to in the present time, the near future, and the far future.
take time for yourself. no matter how much you feel like you can't, do it. it'll make you feel much better.
i'd also like to thank everyone here. you are all helping me start off the healing process on the right foot.
