re: advice 195
Im a 23yr student living in dublin and I suffered a borderline breakdown followed by a long term episode of clinical depression last year. id suffered from depression for a few years but never recognised it until my breakdown when I went to a psychologist. one day I decided to buy a pet rabbit because I was so incomprehensibly lonely and craved contact and companionship. I found he really helped me because it helped take the focus of myself. Because I lived in my bedroom and rarely went out it was nice having company that doesn't necessitate explanations as to why you feel the way you do. sometimes he'd be running around the room and doing crazy things (he's a manic rabbit I love him so full of personality, he definitely changed my perception of rabbits) and you'd suddenly find yourself laughing, out of the blue. I cherished those sporadic moments and thankfully I beat the depression. its something that im going to have to live with as relapses happen but its how you deal with them and what you've learnt from your past experiences that helps yout through he tougher times.
