Case Studies

My name is Robert. Since my girlfriend left me just over a year ago, I have been slipping further and further into that hole full of tears, loss and hopelessness.
I am 34 this year and have previously been married. My ex wife tried her best to make my life unbearable before she left, think her intention was to try and make me hate her rather than still love her.
I spent two years after that withdrawn from the world, hiding from the world, only going to and from work. My Doctor put me on Fluxotine and sleeping tablets which seemed to make things slightly bearable.
When I met my girlfriend it was like someone had re- started my heart. Things just kept getting better and better. My world was opening up again. This beautiful girl was like waking up to Christmas morning everyday.
Then after a holiday last May, she turned around and said that she didn't love me enough.
My world is falling apart, councillors tell me that because I have been through this before that it should be easier. I would say it is worse. You know what is coming, the pain, the tears, the horrible lonleyness, everything you hear about her stabs you in the heart.
I resigned myself to seeing the doctor last week, I am so angry with the world, followed by feeling so helpless. I have just started on fluxotine and would love any advice.

Thank you
Robert
