I think I have finally realised I have depression and have finally come to terms with it having this illness. Last year I camedown with flu like symtoms and what followed was an 8 week feeling of despair, loss of energy, lack of wanting and feeling like doing anything in life. These feelings gradually subsided, but since that episode I have reocurring colds, the same feeling, and have been ill most of last year. I suffer from insomnia and this is getting worse, I sit here all alone in my apt, reading these case studies, I feel like I have no want or energy to bring myself to talk to friends, go to work, do social activities, my last two weeks of feeling on a high were the last two weeks of November, is this normal? Can we go through episodes of highs and lows? My doctor orignally questioned me about depression, but as I normally live and love life to the full, I was quick to dismiss this, I am now, however, going to start on the anti-depressants he described me.
