My brother died just over a year ago. He committed suicide one drunken evening. It wasn't the first time he had tried but each attempt he had made was when he was drunk and when he sobered up he expressed how apologetic he was and how he really didn't want to die. I don't want to go into details but the circumstances in which he was found suggested that he really didn't want to die but thought that someone would get to him again in the nick of time. We were so close and discussed so many things that I know this for a fact.
I had suffered from depression for many years before this and it works in a cyclical motion with me. I find myself at rock bottom and then do all of the things I need to do to pull myself up and then I feel better again for a while which is what gets me through. However, since my brother's death the cycles have been much closer and, despite putting my best efforts in my remissions have been much shorter. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and, if so, do they have any good positive advice?
