Take a pill to ease the pain,
Come around it's just the same,
Harder now my eyes adjust,
Will I ever learn to trust?
Need a rock to lean upon,
To learn again how to be strong,
To love again with open arms,
I've suffered for your bitter charms.
Never want to feel the way,
You made me feel that dreadful day,
You never took the best of me,
That's left, and now I'm friends with me.
I'm friends with me.
Your face is imprinted on my mind, my soul, and God forgive me, my heart. That's the hardest thing you ever made me deal with.
