Black Dog
The big black dog
Barks in my head
I feel numb inside
I wish I was dead.
Pills I swallow
They don't work
Scissors and razor blades
I don't have the nerve.
I've had enough
Of life you see
The tears
The fears
The abuse
The pain.
Rain splashes down
On the window pane
Its 3am
I'm awake yet again.
I wish you were dead
Says the voice in my head
I'm scared of you
Says my thumping heart.
Another day dawns
And I'm still alive.
The sun shines outside
But inside the light has gone out.
Dogs are barking in the street
And my big black dog
Barks in my head
And gnaws at my heart.
