Self-help: Occupy yourself

Occupy yourself

When you're depressed, there's nothing worse than sitting at home doing nothing. All you'll do is focus on your depression, which is a good way to make things worse. Instead, find something to occupy yourself. This can be as simple as a book of puzzles, or you may prefer a more active pastime. If nothing interests you at all - which is often the case for depressed people - concentrate on things that you found interesting before you were depressed. You may not particularly enjoy them now, but they will help you to get better. Don't just lie in bed all day; that won't help at all.
