Lower your expectations

Don't expect the world; you won't get it. There's nothing wrong with optimism, but if the drive for success becomes too strong, each failure will chip away at your self-esteem and you'll start to feel depressed. Making mistakes is a natural part of being human, whether you're a child, student, parent, teacher or pensioner. Learn to accept your mistakes, laugh at them, and move on, and don't worry that someone else is apparently doing better than you. Success, fame and riches do not guarantee happiness. Quite often they preclude it - consider the number of celebrities heading for therapy...
