For the thousands of sufferers of SAD, one of the best cures is sunlight. Depending on the severity of your depression, taking a holiday may or may not be beneficial; a change of scene can be confusing for some depressed people, due to the lack of familiar reference points. One or two days in the sun can be helpful, though, so a quick trip to a sunnier climate is great if you can afford the time and money, and the effects can last for weeks. Alternatively, there are artificial sunshine lamps available that can be very beneficial. Even if your depression is not SAD-related, sunlight can still make you feel better.
